Hanging Tough at 14k
The team is hanging in there at Camp 3, still hoping for a chance to move up the mountain soon. Michael Heeley has had a bit of a cold, and guide Greg Nappi is bringing him down to basecamp right now. The plan will be for Michael to fly out to Talkeetna tomorrow morning, and Greg will return to meet the group with a guide from another team. It's been dragging on a bit by now, but they've still got plenty of time to get the job done. The waiting can be the hardest part of these expeditions.

Talk about suspense... you must be going stir crazy up there. Just like the wx breaks in skydiving only worse, right?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thinking of you, hoping spirits are still up and that you'll soon be on your way. I went on the coast run yesterday - was thinking about you freezing your butt off at 14000ft while I sat in a steaming flight deck at sea level :-)
Hi all, Hang in there--looks like Tuesday might have better weather. Michael, great job--even though you didn't summit, what you did is totally amazing!! I wouldn't have lasted a day up there. Can't wait to see you and hear all about the adventure. Love, Sharon, Charlotte & Claire.
ReplyDeleteOops CC... your friendly F1 Guru had a brain f@rt. Standings for Sunday's Monaco were actually: 1. Button; 2. Barrichello; 3. Vettel. Remind me to learn to read properly when I have a moment.
